Q: What led you to a career in banking?
A: As I was getting ready to graduate from the University of West Georgia in the fall of 2004, there was a lot of uncertainty as to what my future held. However, one thing I knew was I wanted to move back to my hometown. While attending my younger brother’s ball game back home, I ran into Andrew Ainslie, and we started up a conversation about what my plans were after graduation. He knew I was graduating with a degree in finance and asked if I had ever thought about going into banking. Andrew mentioned that our local hometown bank, Bank of Madison, was looking for a credit analyst and I should go talk with the bank president. After my talk with Mr. Haney, I knew what my next step was after graduating.
Q: What was the most useful piece of advice you received in the early/formative years of your career?
A: "Treat others the way you want to be treated"
Q: Tell us about one experience you’ve had that exemplifies being a banker or your role at the bank.
A: Like all community banks, during the pandemic it was all hands on deck. Many employees went above and beyond to assure our customers that our bank was there to support and help get them through this difficult time. It was important for us to show our customers we cared, and it was rewarding to see the gratitude our community had.
Q: What would someone be surprised to learn about you?
A: In addition to working in banking, I run a beef cattle operation with my dad on the family farm that my grandfather bought after returning from WWII.

Q: TV show or series you love?
