Citizens Bank & Trust Company
Richmond Hill, GA
Q: What was your first job in banking, and was there a lesson you learned there that you still use today?
A: My first job in banking was with Bryan Bank & Trust in Richmond Hill, Georgia. I started as a credit analyst, but in most small organizations your daily job duties look nothing like the job description for your official role. I learned that a true community bank is a valuable asset to our small but growing community. Each customer was special, and I was taught that each customer is more than just numbers on a piece of paper.
Q: What has been your experience so far with the new Citizens Bank and Trust office in Richmond Hill?
A: My experience so far with bringing a community bank back to Richmond Hill has been amazing. My business associate in this opportunity, Jon Seagraves, and I thought the community bank model would work, but we have been blown away by the reception we have received from the Richmond Hill community. The excitement from our customers has made the long hours and hard work extremely rewarding.
Q: What would people be surprised to learn about you?
A: People would probably be surprised to learn that I am a Bryan County Commissioner. I was first elected to the County Commission in November 2016. It has been a privilege to serve my community in this capacity, but it has been trying at times.
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: My favorite television show is The West Wing. I did not watch it religiously when it first aired, but it is a constant "go-to" for me on Netflix.
